Helping poor families
Help to poor families is the basic principle of all Child Sponsor Programme projects. Even if you do not want to commit to a sponsorship, poor families in eastern Europe will be greatly blessed by a one-off or irregular donation. 
In the sponsored families the financial situation is very unstable. By fixed sponsor donations families are just able to make ends meet. Especially the long and cold winters, are a matter of great concern for the parents, because they often do have only sufficient means to heat one or two rooms.
Also the beginning of a new school year is a difficult time. The money for notebooks and pens is often not available for all the children.
For this reason the Aid Fund for Families was created. From this fund extra support is given to families who need this. 
Child Sponsor Programme frequently receives calls to help in acute emergencies, like a funeral, for example.

If you do not want or are not able to sponsor a child, the Aid Fund for Families is a good alternative to contribute to the care of poor children.
